*Road Safety Awareness Training Programme*

Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex organised Road Safety Awareness Training for its member schools' drivers and conductors at SSVM World School Coimbatore ,on September 6 2024.

The event aimed to enhance road safety awareness among participants and was graced by distinguished guests and notable figures.

Guests of Honor:

• Mr. S. Ashok Kumar, Deputy Commissioner- Traffic, Coimbatore City, served as the Chief Guest.

• Dr. Manimekalai Mohan, Founder of SSVM Institutions, was the Guest of Honor.

• Mr. K. Sathiya Kumar, Regional Transport Office, Coimbatore Central.

• Mr. L. Kanaga Subramani, Resource Person from UYIR.

• Mrs. K. Navamani, Mrs. A. Suguna Devi, Dr S.A. Nirmala, Mr.Samson and Mr.Abhishek Executive Committee members of Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex.

The programme commenced with the Tamil Thai Vazhtu and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, signifying the beginning of an enlightening session. A total of 555 drivers and conductors from 42 schools under the Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex attended the event.

Mrs. Navamani, Chairperson of Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex, warmly welcomed the entire gathering, setting a positive tone for the proceedings. Mr. S. Ashok Kumar then took the stage, delivering an impactful address on road safety, emphasizing traffic rules and regulations. His presentation was both informative and inspirational, as he drew from literature and Thirukkural to underline the critical role of drivers and conductors in protecting future generations.

Following Mr. Kumar's address, Mr. L. Kanaga Subramani underscored the noble nature of the drivers’ and conductors’ profession, equating their role in safeguarding young lives to a divine responsibility. He provided valuable insights and practical advice on road safety.

The programme concluded with Mr. Bala Subramaniam, Educational Coordinator of UYIR, delivering the Vote of Thanks. His closing remarks expressed gratitude to all participants and highlighted the day’s key takeaways.

This well-conducted event not only educated but also inspired the attendees, reaffirming their crucial role in ensuring road safety and contributing to a safer community.
